He normally wears boots, black jeans or lightweight combat trousers, a black T-shirt with dragons or skulls or similar gothic design and a black leather biker jacket. He also wears a pair of silver rimmed glasses
Personality: Calan Munroe is not his real name, which he refuses point blank to reveal. He also moved to the islands after becoming a vampire to get as far from his former family and friends as possible so as not to endanger his new identity. Even though proud of his time in the British Army as part of his 'aging Goth' cover he tends not to speak about it and keeps it a secret from mortals
Calan has no time for the anarchs amongst his own clan. As a former member of the British Army, he accepts that there needs to be someone in charge, though he also see's the need to occasionally accepts their orders to their face and then once they are out of the way ignore them and do what needs to be done. Whilst alive and still a Sergeant in the army that was how he tended to deal with 2nd Lt's straight out of Sandhurst. However where he does agree with the majority of his clan is that he believes that positions of authority should be awarded on merit and not necessarily to elders
He also is passionate about defending the masquerade. He reasons that with his permanent fangs, should it ever break down, he would be one of the first to be staked and burnt. Any vampire stupid enough to endanger the masquerade in his presence would have his feelings on the matter made explicity clear in a violent fashion. To mortals he explains away his fangs by claiming that they are dental implants he got when 'young and dumb' and 'more into being a Goth than I am now'
He has a sarcastic sense of humour, is cynical and describes himself as an 'optimistic pessimist' in that when things happen he will come up with ideas to deal with them and put them into effect, but at the same time more than half expect the palns to go wrong or not work
Biography: Calan was born in the North East of England in the early 1970's. He joined the British army at 16 straight from school. He rose through the ranks until he became a sergeant. A typical squaddie he had the black humour and sarcasm common to many members of the army. He took part in the first Gulf war and Kosovo. He also served tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq
His sire, a 9th generation British Brujah elder, despairing of the anarch tendencies of most modern Brujah, searched for someone he thought would accept someone has to rule, but who would also be prepared to ignore them if he thought he was right. When he found Calan he decided he'd found his man. He 'embraced' Calan whilst he was on a night out during his 'post tour of duty' leave
When he awoke after the embrace, Calan was at first really annoyed. After calming down he stayed with his sire long enough to learn the rules of his new situation. He found he agreed with his sire about the anarch's and developed a detestation for the Sabat. The Camarilla may not be perfect but its the best of the groups as far as he is concerned, plus he thinks it may be possible to reform it from the inside. fter he was confident he had a handle on the situation, he moved to the Forlorn Isles so that he would stand less chance of running into people who had known him when he was alive
