Luz Stood at the end of a dock staring out at the turbulent waters in the rain. The weather did not bother her in the slightest, for she was always cold. That being said, her attitude was foul, though because of other circumstances. Any mortal who may have seen this lone woman, staring out at the dark sea, would have sensed a fervid murderous aura about her. Any would flee in terror at the sight. Any, except the person on which she awaited.
Luz's mind was preoccupied, and her scowl could only gesture at the rage within. Her mind was filled with a slideshow of the events of the past week. Sangi, her priest, on the ground, drained of all blood. Burnt corpses of Cain's children, slowly turning to ash in the smoldering ruins of her home. She would have revenge, and she would have help.
Being cold and furious, with no one left in her pack but traitors, she awaited the arrival of her new priest, an honorable and loyal member of the Sabbat. Hisato Zaitochi, the American samurai, known throughout the Sabbat as Doom by the Third Eye, was to be her loyal comrade in hunting down the former Abbot Callum, and any of his accomplices, responsible for the destruction of the pack.
In the darkness she saw the lights of a small skiff heading towards the pier through the rough waters and heavy rain. She could see at the bough, as the boat approached, a large figure carrying a large duffel bag and two swords at his side. Luz stood, attent, ready to meet the man who would aid her in bringing the traitors to justice, and thus final death.

Hisato remained silent throughout the long journey to Oddhaven, his mind was deep in thought on what awaited him when he arrived. The Cardinal had personally asked him to intervene after hearing of the traitorous act that had occurred and act as the new pack Priest to the Oddhaven, Eyes Of Anunit pack, a relatively new pack led by someone he recalled named Luz Elicia Apaganza Bastilo.
A strange name he thought but who was he to judge.
His task was simple enough. Assist Luz with bringing Abbot Callum, and any of his accomplices, responsible for the destruction of the pack to swift and decisive Sabbat judgement and justice by way of the ritus. Such was the way of things.
The night was wet and full of rain...which fit his mood. He was not amused at hearing of traitors within the Sabbat, there was no place in it, at least he thought so. He stood at the front of the skiff, looking out towards whom he was to meet. When they were in the shallow waters, he placed his bow and arrows upon his back, along with the duffel bag before making sure both swords were secure as he departed.
As he met Luz, he couldn't help but be struck by her beauty and what he perceived as a fire behind her eyes. Had he been a mortal he might've been smitten perhaps. Placing his duffel bag upon the ground for a moment, he offered a bow of greeting, never once taking his eyes from her even as he did so. Just as his old mentor and sire had always insisted upon. Afterall one never knew what to expect.
Picking the bag back up after, he spoke once he had shaken her hand, a firm grip that had spent years at work with a katana.
“You must be one Luz Elicia Apaganza Bastilo I presume? A pleasure to meet my new Ductus, I believe you were expecting me. I am Hisato Zaitoichi, your new pack Priest. I am a sorry for your loss and the traitorous arts of others...however know I shall work quickly and efficiently to bring them to justice and judge them according to our traditions. They must be made subject to the ritus, the Cardinal demands it as does the Recent. He has taken much interest in Oddhaven of late I hear.
I am to remain for as long as is necessary. Years if I must, I will assist with not only with these traitors but also in getting the pack up and running properly again. Make no mistake, any and all who defy our mandate and the Sabbat will find it was a poor choice. Now that said, if we can I would like to get on with things as quickly as we can and settle my things into the haven.”

"That has burned down." Luz replied curtly. "I have scoped out a temporary haven here in brightshore. It should have the necessary trappings for our mission. As you are aware, we are the Eyes of Anunit now. Us and only us. All are either assumed dead or traitors until proven otherwise. This is a grievous failure on my part, as well as on Callum's. He made the mistake of letting me persist so as to right my wrongs. I should have seen this coming. My pack is all but destroyed thanks to Callum and his cronies."
Luz started moving at a brisk pace towards a collection of warehouses until they finally reached a long abandoned shipping warehouse. As the two passed through the door into the main office, Luz brushed past a curtain of rather loud tin cans hung on strings all the way down to the floor. Hisato and Luz passed through two more of these curtains before coming out into the main floor of the warehouse. "Watch your step." Luz said to Hisato, pointing out a tripwire across the bottom of the doorway into the main floor. "He can make the area around him silent. This is the best I can do for an alarm system." Hisato noticed then a collection of wires strung across a series of coat racks that lead towards all the doors they just passed. At the end of these wires was a huge assortment of tin cans, right next to a shipping container, that were still shaking slightly from the alarms being rattled about.
On the main floor were three shipping crates with closable doors. There did not appear to be any windows in the warehouse. Inside one of the crates was a bedroll, a desk, a small generator connected to a lamp, a duffel bag, and a collection of papers atop a filing cabinet. Inside the other was only a bedroll.
Luz stood in front of the mostly empty shipping crate and gestured to it. "I'm sure you've slept in worse. I've scanned the whole warehouse for windows. Only the main offices seem to have any, and I've jammed the loading doors shut. Just to be safe however I chose a warehouse with these shipping containers. No sunlight seeps in. I've been able to sleep, the five days I've been here, undisturbed. It's far from perfect, but it is certainly suitable to the situation." Luz moved over to her shipping container and started ordering the papers, what looked like maps and notes written in old Spanish, as she continued to brief Hisato. "Our prey is an assassin, so it befits us to be highly mobile. I only plan on staying here two more days before moving on. Get your gear and effects situated in your quarters. I'll answer whatever questions you have about our situation, the pack, the enemy, and my leadership style once you do so. We'll do more proper 'get to know you' exercises and introductions while we're finding dinner."
Were Hisato not hundreds of years old, and a warrior by trade, he would recognize Luz's deluge of information as similar to that of a manager showing a new employee around the office. She was visibly energized, by anger, excitement, or anxiety, Hisato couldn't tell. Luz sat down at her desk and kept sifting through her papers, photographs and books. "Feel free to ask questions as you get set up, and be sure to tell me when you're ready to hunt some humans. I'm hungry, and it's been an awfully long week."

Hisato was somewhat disheartened to hear the haven, a place that was supposed to be a sanctuary for the Sabbat of Oddhaven, had become a tomb on account of a few individuals...individuals he would soon bring to Sabbat judgement and justice. There would be few places they could hide once he was on the trail. His enemies had learnt that the hard way. His focus, loyalty to his cause, commitment and sheer will were second to none.
The dead and dying lay behind in droves in areas he had hunted. Both mortal and undead alike. So much so was his reputation in that regard that most Sabbat members that knew of his exploits had started calling him the Doom of the Third Eye, a name no doubt given to scare the younger fledgling childer into subservience without question, less they face Hisato’s wrath. A fact which humoured him slightly. He noted the weather as he stood arms folded at the bought of the skiff boat, undeterred by the wind and rain that hammered down. He had little to worry about in his undead state.
He found the weather matched his mood. He found ones who betrayed the cause most distasteful. How one could do such a thing was beyond him. But times had changed he imagined. Such things as loyalty and commitment were words long forgotten by most...replaced by greed and the want of influence or power, but not he. He would keep to the old ways, remember them and instil them into a new generation of vampire. He would bring back honour, help make the Sabbat worthy again and rise to glory to await the day Caine returned. Starting with the punishment of Callum and his ilk.
And yet Hisato was relatively new to the Sabbat, many of the Salubri clan had yet to join but some had. He among them, and yet he had no doubt the rest would soon follow in time. As Luz lead the way and spoke, carrying his duffle bag upon his bag along with his bow and arrows, he stopped a moment and turned to Luz as she spoke....blaming herself for what she happened in part. It simply would not do.
He replied in kind, placing a free hand upon her shoulder in a show of support as his ice blue eyes met her own eyes.
“Don't say that. Don't blame yourself, go down that road and you will only ever find pain and discomfort. Even in undeath. You are not to blame or to know what was to occur. No-one could have predicted it. Callum was smart...he played us all well, what he did was meticulous, through and planned to a fault. Nothing was left to chance, not even you. But he made a mistake like you said.
He underestimated you and all the Sabbat. It shall be to his doom.”
After that he remained silent until they arrived at the temporary haven. Luz was right he had slept in worse, this was mildly comfortable compared to some mud filled fields he had made home for the night. He hated having no alternative but to bury himself in the dirt. It was a last resort but still he had done it on occasion. He didn't much like trying to wash all the dirt and bugs out his clothes after and other areas. The stuff got everywhere.
As they moved along inside the building, the ancient samurai stepped over the wire as instructed, making a note to remember it was there just as he noted what Luz said of their enemy. He found Luz’s can trick quite cleaver all things considered, and it seemed to be working so far, so he couldn't fault it.
Looking about, Hisato soon found a place to settle his stuff. Unwrapping his Katana and the shorter Wakizashi, he soon had them sharpened and ready after a quick grind on his grinding stone. Picking two stakes, and his newer modern bow Hisato was ready for action.
At hearing more of his foe and Luz need to feed, he replied.
“Interesting....that he can make the area around him silent, but yet there is always a weakness to be exploited. Be it his personality traits, his ego for instance or more physical weaknesses. We just need to expose it, or better yet let him expose it himself. He might make an area silent but nothing remains silenced forever, he like any other can be beaten.
As so far as feeding is concerned, I could do with a bite myself. However, there is something you should know of us Salubri concerning feeding. If we are to feed I must seek battle. My bloodline can only feed in the thrill of combat such is our way. I usually prefer feeding upon thugs, gangsters...to clear the streets of drugs and keep the Sabbat clean of that vice.
It gives me an idea. Tell me do you know Callum’s usual Hangouts? Or rather where his ‘friends’ hang out. Perhaps we might find some information from who we find to feed on. No doubt, Callum has eyes and ears most places. It's likely he knows I am here already. We could learn much of our enemy from those he employs and ply them of information before disposing of them”
He waited Luz reply, but to his mind it was a good option. Information was ammunition as he had heard before said.

"That's the thing, Callum doesn't have any friends outside of the pack. And he doesn't have anymore of those here either. We have no way of telling who helped him, since there was only ash at the old haven, and nobody has reported back. It wasn't done alone though. So I agree, Hisato. We must collect information on his whereabouts. The issue is where to find it."
Luz sifted through a filling cabinet until she found a piece of paper with Spanish scribbled all over it. There was a name at the top of the sheet, circled and underlined. "Ay, ay, ay... I realize now that you can't read my notes..." Luz put the papers aside and turned back to Hisato, "I can just tell you. The man we need to find is AZ. No one knows his full name, or even where he's located. He has a worldwide information network it's said. It infuses modern computer technology and on the ground informants in every major city in the world. I think it's bogus personally, but the center of operations for the network is here in Oddhaven. This man is apparently one of the newest power players in the Nosferatu information rings. He has been able to remain entirely undiscovered, and for that reason, unaligned. Neither the Sword nor the Tower can get at him to punish his dealings with the other, so both use him while crossing their fingers and ignoring the consequences. I hate to have to use his network, but one of his affiliates, Mikel Ledenspeider, can get us what we want know, for a cost, of course."
She looked over at Hisato's sword, and mentioned, "When it comes to your feeding habits, I'm sure we can find some crazed biker behind a bar to provoke, or some addled druggie. It'll be good to see your skills. Callum is unmatched with Kukri. It will be necessary for me to judge your skill so we can choose the best approach for taking him down."

Hisato gave an audible sigh, it was regrettable that they would have to deal with an unknown factor, an open information source such as Adobe if it existed was prone to conflicting stories. But sometimes the gamble was worth the risk...weighing the advantages and disadvantages, Hisato decided they had no other alternative but to take the gamble.
He continued sharpening his sword, a silver bladed centuries old katana. And yet it was as sharp and steadfast as the day it was forged, Hisato kept it like all his weapons, in top condition and working order.
“I see, then we have no other choice. It is a gamble but one we must take it appears, as much as I hate such things, everything has a cost. The question is will the price be worth what we receive in return, just as I ask, what is his price? Not to be rude, but I am curious as to the currency. As to feeding, I am certain we shall find someone...if you wish to make a scene I will leave it to you to create, I am curious as to what you can do as well. I hear rumours but it is nothing to seeing the real thing, don't you agree?”
The ancient vampire thought it wise to ask, after all these days not all currency was cold hard cash. Vitae was big business to some, and he was unwilling to spill a drop of his own unless it was absolutely worth it, he would prefer it be split in battle.

"Food first then." Luz said with assurance. Once Hisato had finished sharpening his blades, they stepped over the various tripwires and headed out into the night. Luz walked with purpose down the streets, keeping to the shadows and avoiding the gaze of the various strung out and vagrant mortals that inhabited bright shore. Any that did look at her would recoil at the sight of her, sensing that something was off. "I know a bar. It's infested with humans, the paler ones, who think they're somehow better than the darker of their ilk." Luz scoffed at the notion. "They're like the Camarilla, who think that just because they have more stuff that they're not inherently monsters like the rest. I need only pick a fight with one as they leave, speak Spanish and they blow up in your face." Hisato rolls for starting blood Ltw90CRTp_ Luz rolls for starting bloodp_ damn ok, luckily we both have pools over 10.
Luz rolls wits + streetwise to find drunk skinheads difficulty 4 for brightshore. p_p_p_ Three successes.
Luz and Hisato eventually came to a bar hidden in between a convenience store and a foreclosed pizza parlor. Three men drank in the shadows of the alley between the pizza parlor in the bar. The smoked cigarettes, and talked loudly about various sexual exploits with bravado and bluster. They had tattoos of swastikas and various Nazi symbols. Their heads were shaved and they wore denim jackets with Neo Nazi paraphernalia. One had a black eye from a previous fight, one had a scar over his eye that had been long healed, and one had a swastika tattooed on his face "Wait in the shadows for them to start the fight. Keep it in the alley. This won't take long I promise. I'll whistle an call when it's time to go." Luz walked up to the group of racists and put on the bluster of a drunk Portuguese floozy. "Ey Muchachos. You white fucks. You think you're better than me? Eyyyyyyyy no comprende? tus Stupido! Can't even understand English? Brown girl knows your language better than you do you racist bastards!" Luz rolls manipulation + subterfuge to try and provoke the skinheads. Difficulty 7 because of Luz's supernatural, uneasy aura. p_p_p_p_p_p_p_ two successes Each of the skinheads glared at the seeming drunk Portuguese woman insulting them. They all pulled out knives and the one with a scar over his eye muttered to Luz, "Say goodbye to your tongue bitch." Luz sneered and then whistled shouting, "Vamanos, Hisato!" Luz rolls intiative, wits + dex (5) +p_ 9. Scarface rolls intitiative. 5 +p_= 12. Black eye rolls initiative 4+p_=7. Nazi face rolls initiative 4+p__=13. Hisato rolls initiative 6 + p_= 13. Luz will declare her intended action in this post then Hisato will declare in the next, and the thugs will declare and execute their actions based upon Hisato who is going first anyways. Luz felt her blood boil, ready to use her superhuman strength to break scarface's arm and teach him what it meant to call an elder kindred a bitch. Luz spends one blood point to activate her potence dice to try and grapple scarface. ··················

"Food first then." heard Luz speak with assurance as he listened to what she had to say. He nodded in agreement as he finally finished up sharpening his blades, especially his prized katana. Following Luz lead, he stepped over the various tripwires and headed out into the night.
As Luz walked with purpose down the streets, he followed beside her to begin with, the two appearing as a imposing sight to behold upon any who dared to look upon them. Any that did look soon recoiled at the sight, sensing a foreboding about them. One a tall, mysterious pale man bearing a katana at his side and the other a spanish woman.
Hisato listened again as Luz spoke.
"I know a bar. It's infested with humans, the paler ones, who think they're somehow better than the darker of their ilk." Luz scoffed at the notion. "They're like the Camarilla, who think that just because they have more stuff that they're not inherently monsters like the rest. I need only pick a fight with one as they leave, speak Spanish and they blow up in your face."
Hisato knew the sort. Racists, fascists...he had fought two wars against such filth. Those who thought themselves better than everyone else and thought themselves a superior specimen of the species, that they were the master race. And yet he had soon found they were no different than any other mortal, they still screamed, begged and died the same. Bleeding the same vitae as the ones they scorned so much.
They were not so special in the end.
As the thugs approached, Hisato let a slight smile grip his lip. He was going to enjoy this, fascists were worse than the typical gangster he thought. They were thugs with a dangerous misguided political agenda and some had genocidal tendencies that dwarfed even a vampires lust for blood. He would be doing the world a favour by ridding Oddhaven of the Nazo fascists, fanatical offspring. Neo-Nazi's he remembered was the term they used these days. But fascists all the same.
As a fascist made his way towards the ancient samurai, Hisato acted.
He draw his katana as the thug rapidly approached, and set about instantly into a forward roll that would hopefully come up and slash his sword horizontally up and across the man's torso and cut him as he passed him by or remove a limb.
Either way blood would be split this night, his katana's reach would hopefully ensure that. The weapon was afterall almost as long as his arm and sharper than most modern blades. He was certain Luz would be suitably impressed with both it and his skill of the weapon.

Alright fellas, as you know I'll be taking care of the combat portion of this with you. Initiative order is
Hisato Nazi face Scarface Luz Black Eye
From now on until combat ends we'll follow this order; I'll include Black Eye's action(s) at the end of my resolution posts, Luz will post, I'll post for Scarface and Nazi face, Hisato will post, then I'll resolve. The exception will be this post for logistics reasons.
Even though you guys are hunting since you're in combat we'll roll d10 (since neither of you have Herd) for your starting blood pool; since we're doing this a little later we'll treat any result lower than 5 as a 5. Luz _GhYso7wp_ Hisato p_ Good result! Lastly, as these are petty scum they'll use the health levels for Extras and possess rank 2 in every related stat. Black Eye and Scarface ran at Luz, spitting insults. "That's right bitch, stand there pissing yourself," Black Eye sneered, mistaking her readiness for abrupt fear. He went to kick her in the stomach, while Scarface, grinning with delight, attempted to plant his knife between her ribs. Hisato is waiting in the shadows and will roll Dex + Stealth against Nazi face's Perception + Alertness to remain unseen and perform an ambush. Hisato: p_p_p_p_p_ One success. Nazi face: p_p_p_p_ Two successes, Nazi face spots Hisato. Nazi face was a little more reserved than his buddies and hung back, content to watch them punish the existence of the Hispanic woman. It was this reservation that let him notice Hisato as he emerged from the shadows into the alley. He brandished his own knife and raised it high above his head in a backhand grip, charging Hisato and attempting to stab down upon him. Hisato Hisato goes first and spends one die on drawing his Katana (difficulty 4):
p_ Botch! Hisato fumbles his katana draw; this will cost him the first success on his attack roll, and the first success on any damage rolls he makes. However, he will still draw his weapon. Hisato attempts a forward roll to close the distance to Nazi face. As this is a combination of a defensive and movement option, the first success will bring Hisato immediately into melee range and any further successes will oppose successes on Nazi face's attack roll.
p_p_ One success. Hisato successfully closes the distance to Nazi face. Hisato rolls 3 dice as a weapon strike.
p_p_p_ Botch! It's just not Hisato's day. Hisato deals no damage.
Nazi face Nazi face is within half of his running distance and does not need to split his actions between moving and attacking Hisato. Nazi face rolls Dex + Melee to attack Hisato at difficulty 7 (+1 from Hisato's roll presenting a harder target); as he is using a knife and Hisato is using a Katana Nazi face loses one die from his attack roll to deliver the attack.
p_p_p_ One success. Nazi face rolls Strength + 1 to inflict damage:
p_p_p_ No successes, Hisato has no need to Soak.
Scarface Scarface rolls Dex + Melee (difficulty 6) to stab Luz; as Luz is later in the initiative order her attack at his arm will be resolved later.
p_p_p_p_ One success. Scarface rolls Strength + 1 for damage
p_p_p_ Two successes! Luz rolls Stamina to Soak p_p_p_ No successes. As the Knife does lethal damage Luz suffers two levels of Lethal damage and is now Hurt (-1 penalty to dice pool).
Luz Luz spends 1 blood point (6 remaining) for two guaranteed successes using Potence on her damage roll. Luz rolls Dexterity + Brawl at difficulty 7 (-1 dice) to grab and attempt to break Scarface's arm p_p_p_ Jesus, the Kindred aren't rolling particularly well. That's no successes for Luz, which means that her Potence successes don't apply.
Black Eye Black Eye rolls Dexterity + Brawl and attempts to deliver a kick (difficulty 7) p_p_p_p_ No successes. Though the alley was sheltered from it, the rain had yet to let up, and the presence of water on the handle of Hisato's katana made it slippery. Hisato's hand slipped when he went to draw the weapon and cost him precious seconds and energy in taking a firm grip and drawing the long blade. Stylishly, the samurai threw himself forward and into a roll, coming up just in front of Nazi face and making a horizontal slash with his weapon. Nazi face stopped his forward charge at the last second and narrowly managed to twist his body back and away from the tip of the sword. Attempting to seize the opening, he stepped forward and tried to stab down at the Kindred, but his focus was almost entirely on the long sword and his knife came nowhere near Hisato's person. Confronted by the two skinheads, Luz was coiled and waiting to attack. But the speed and alacrity of Scarface surprised her, and before she could snap her arms out the degenerate had thrust out a stab and managed to sink the weapon a centimetre or so into her midsection. Blood began to well out from the wound as a jolt of pain shocked through Luz, and the surprise and pain let Scarface's arm slip out of her grasp as she attempted to seize it before he withdrew. His buddy Black Eye, meanwhile, tried to plant his foot in Luz's stomach, but the "watch how cool I am fucking this girl up" factor of the move proved decidedly inferior next to its actual difficulty and he came up well short. Steadying his footing, Black Eye spat at Luz and attempted to cut her left arm with his knife. Black Eye is on Luz's left, Scarface is on her right. Nazi face and Hisato are a few meters back down the alley. ·······································

Luz dashed back from the two pursuers, making space in between herself and them. She then called out into the darkness, morphing the shadows of this world into those borne of the abyss. Darkness started pooling around the two thugs who had attacked her. She hoped to trap them in her darkness, blind and lost amongst the embrace of the Abyss. She would relish in their panic, drowning them in a sea of blackness. She hoped that the seclusion of the alley would keep her darkness from being to conspicuous. Not that she was worried about such things as the masquerade, but the police were a headache, and the last thing she wanted to worry about was evading the mortal authorities while searching for the unfindable later that night. Using shroud of night around scarface and blackeye. I don't spend blood on the first use of shroud of night because of a merit I have.

As Luz pulled back, Scarface ran after her immediately. He brandished his own knife, laughing with delight as he caught up with her and went to implant the knife in her kidneys. Nazi face, meanwhile, tossed his knife from one hand to the other as he mocked Hisato. "Oh look, some wananbe fucking samurai vigilante," he sneered. "Which pawn shop d'you buy that from?" He charged Hisato, attempting to kick the sword away while it was low so that he could carve up Hisato's face.
