Caucasian, he has a strong jaw kept clean shaven and dull green eyes that still manage to stand out against grimey brown hair that simply doesn't look fully clean no matter how much it's washed. He typically sports a thick, dark jacket and gloves over dark jeans, a scartf, and a long-sleeved dark t-shirt to ward off the chill of Oddhaven's docklands areas were he typically haunts.
Alister retains his appearance from after he was infected. His cheeks are sallow and his eyes have receded into sunken pits. His skin, once strong and concealing corded muscle, now hangs slightly loose and looks pale. Though he looks unhealthy, his new supernatural nature has returned to him the appearance of great strength and stature, and his stance and steps are purposeful and adroit. Once more, he looks like a man you don't want to fuck with.

Bitter and driven, Alister is happy to get his hands dirty. Pragmatic, often angry, and ruthless, Alister has little meaning to his life beyond trying to reach the next day and receive his next payment under the table. When fighting he couples his sheer size with a single minded drive to brutalize his opponents and take them out for the count as effectively as possible. Though not an eloquent or particularly social man, people's first impressions (due to his sheer size) are generally 'don't fuck with him' which, coupled with a habit of rude silence, has served him fairly well. Perhaps his most notable trait is his sheer tenacity when manifests in all aspects of his life - expectedly, Alister is also bull-headed, stubborn, and exceedingly prone to arguments.
Generally a poor man due to his line of work and atrocious spending habits, Alister will take on all sorts of work to earn even a meagre amount. He does, however, draw a firm line at murder, particularly brutal beatings, torture, and other similar acts. He has a few friends, who he sticks by through thick and thin and often when they've made decisions that endangers his life as well. Though not particularly intelligent or calculating, Alister is a surprisingly quick thinker and has an aptitude for reading a situation and mapping out a plan in record time.
As a dying man, Allister's sole focus is attempting to find a treatment for his illness. The promise of medicine draws him in immediately and has already lead him into several bad deals and dangerous jobs - though attempts to double-cross him have ended much worse for the other parties.
Biography:
Alister's grandparents emigrated from Scotland to the Forlorn Isles shortly after the Second World War. Fittingly for their last name, Alister's grandfather worked in the mines, a tradition Alister's father would eventually take up. A bitter, angry man, Alister's father spent his pay on drink and bandages, and his spare time asleep in front of the television; Alister's mother simply left the house one night and never returned. Alister himself dropped out of school shortly after he turned 16 and, at 17, emancipated himself.
Now 28, Alister has spent the years since then on the wrong side of the law. Pickpocketing, petty thievery, intimidation and stints working for all kinds of unsavoury characters has kept Alister rotating in and out of Oddhaven's jail - with little to show for it, as Alister has rarely had more than a hundred dollars to his name due to bad luck, bad spending habits, and generally bad life choices. To combat growing bitterness, Alister found his relief in drink and women. Yet despite his poor personal state, Alister has made several friends throughout Oddhaven's underworld that keep him up to date on what's happening and occasionally help funnel work his way.
None of these friends have been any help since he was infected. Whether from a fling, a cut in a dark place, or some parasite from a sewer job, something has gotten into Alister's blood and begun rotting him from the inside out. Too poor to afford medical care, Alister feverishly pursued every illicit avenue he could attempting to find treatment. Eventually, he learned that he had been infected by a rare blood borne pathogen, and desperately explored ways to fight the disease. His attempts brought him to the attention of Dr. Sairose O'Connor - the Oddhaven Camarilla's chief medical practitioner, who was concerned that his pathogen could spread to other humans and compromise the Camarilla Herds (though Alister was wholly unaware of this).
During this same time period, Alister also caught the attention of Solomon Cord, a former Sheriff of Oddhaven and a current Hound. Solomon, impressed by his lust for life and refusal to submit to the deadly pathogen, befriended Alister and ultimately came to his rescue when O'Connor attempted to turn Alister into a ghoul. Though he avoided an eternity of subservience, Alister's injuries from the attempt and subsequent escape were far too grave, and Solomon Embraced him in order to save his life - such as it was.
Alister began a new life at the very bottom of the Kindred social ladder, scorned as barely above a Caitiff - his Embrace, after all, had been without Prince Loire's blessing. But it was a life nonetheless, and Alister embraced his second chance with his new friend.

Stored in a secure storage locker near the Old Habour, a fairly significant source of Alister's fiscal woes are due to the number of weapons he has purchased (mostly illegally) over the years which are kept in this location (along with a sleeping bag); these weapons include pistols, revolvers, shotguns, a few explosives, melee weapons ranging from clubs to cricket bats to a few swords and axes (both blunt and sharp) plus a worrying amount of brass knuckles.

Alister knows some people who know some people, all of whom are deeply tuned into the ongoings of Oddhaven's mortal criminal underworld. One cooks the books for a local mob boss; the other is a high-performing confidence man who lives a much more secure and luxurious life than Alister is afforded.

Perhaps the only friend Alister has on the right side of the law is employed in the Oddhaven Police Department. An old friend from school who made something useful of his life, this ally is the reason Alister usually only spends a few nights to a week in jail and has a disproportionately small criminal record. In return, Alister has occasionally passed along tips and suggestions to put some small time crooks behind bars.
