Alister saw the punch coming and predicted the safe jab flying his way. He moved to step aside with ease, only to find it was not so easy to do so. The stubbly chinned academic saw Alister's weight change. Alexander smiled wryly, as the speed of his jab suddenly increased, and changed direction, hitting the fledgling vampire right above the eye with one of his knuckles. A massive open cut started welling with blood and streaming down over Alister's eye impeding his vision significantly. Despite the force of the punch, Alister took the hit pretty well. The cut was deep, but his head wasn't ringing like it did when Solomon hit him. He still felt energized, only mildly dazed. He swung back at LeChevalier, a test punch of his own, hardly at the maximum of his potential. His aim was impeded by the blood in his eyes, however, and he only barely managed to brush Alexander, as the Brujah elder stepped aside with quick poise and grace. I'm ruling the dodge as a held action waiting for Alexanders punch, since you can't dodge a punch that hasn't happened yet, so Alister will be taking a punch to the fucking face.

Continuing with the momentum of the sidestep, Alexandre attempted to move to Alister's side, weaving in quickly to throw another punch generally aimed at his left ribs and then weave back out

Alister wiped the blood off of his forehead and flicked it to the side. He heard a few cheers and jeers from the crowd, but he wasn't really aware of them anymore. That wound would keep bleeding until he harnessed some of the special blood in his veins to heal it, he knew - but that wouldn't be very sporting, would it? "Lucky hit," he acknowledged. He doubted that'd happen again, he knew the trick now. When LeChevalier came in for another strike, Alister moved first to lodge his knuckles in the Primogen's jaw before he could get his attack in, coiled and ready to slip LeChevalier's attack afterwards. Same dice allocation as last time, but this time Alister is attacking and dodging vs dodging and attacking.

Alister saw Chevzie's weight shift, and instinctively went in for an uppercut before his foe was able to move in for a punch. The blood in his eyes, however made it hard for him to judge which way Alexander was moving. The swing missed, despite it's impressive force, as LeChevalier ducked to the side. The primogen aimed his shot at Alister's side hoping to break some ribs, but the fledgling, knowing his way around a scrap, jumped away with deft footwork after missing his first punch. The two circled each other, waiting for the other to make a mistake, misstep, or blunder that would give them the necessary window to win. The crowd screamed, making it hard to think. Alexander remembered the sound of the battlefield, the screams of the dying, the jeers of the enemy, as the rabble around him egged them on. He had to remain focused on the fight, and shook off the memories, for no kindred was to be taken lightly. Alister would need to learn that the hard way. Alister rolls to hit sCM4Dnsfp_p_Miss!

Alexandre smirked. "You need a bit of luck to last as long as I have." With that, he continued his same tactic of dipping in, throwing a punch, and dipping back out, not concerning himself with the attack to come. It may not be working in any dramatic sense, but he had gotten a hit in, and the Elder was more than willing to play the long game. Indeed, if he had a drawn out battle, his fellow Brujah just might let him off the hook of a cage fight for some time.

Alister had seen that strategy plenty, with the weaker fighter trying to jab away and wear down the bigger one over time. Well, he wasn't going to play that game - and he knew exactly how to make LeChevalier quit his bullshit.
This time, when his opponent came in for a strike, Alister moved at the exact same instant to plant his fist in LeChevalier's solar plexus, confident he could simply soak the weaker man's blow.
(Alister is making a regular brawl strike, no attempt to dodge or split dice.)

As LeChevalier continued to dance about on his feet, Alister crouched down, ready for the primogen to pounce. The moment Chevzies dived in for the attack, Alister stepped forward, jamming his fist solidly into Alexander's gut. He thought he heard something crack under the force of his punch, perhaps a lower rib, but it didn't matter anyhow, he had finally got a hit in on the tricky bastard. Shocked by the power of Alister's haymaker, LeChevalier barely swung his fist at Alister. There was much less power in his own punch than he had expected, and Alister hardly seemed phased by the blow, flinching only barely when it squarely connected against his jaw. Alexander didn't feel too good. By this time in his unlife he knew what a fractured rib felt like. It wasn't too bad of an ache, but it still made him stiff and a bit hard to move. The especially irking part is that it was very clear that Alister wasn't trying very hard. Alister rolls to hit, unseriously still xLSvrD3op_p_p_p_p_p_ ok then.

Alexandre shook his head, reeling from the punch. "You seem to have that very lucky as well. Enough not just to land a hit, but to meet Solomon at the right time, and to escape a Tremere laboratory." He could feel a kink in his shoulder that would be sure to slow his punches. So far he was fighting like a mortal. Tapping into his blood, he elected to start fighting like a Kindred, sweeping forward to make several lightning fast attacks, while simultaneously increasing his agility so the kink wouldn't get in the way.
(Activating Celerity for 1 BP, to make 3 attacks instead of one. Those dice no longer improve Dex, but also spending 2 BP to improve Dex, so the dicepool is the same.)

Alister grinned, confident. "It's not luck, it's- shit!" He near-choked on the rest of his words, completely caught off-guard by the blinding flurry of attacks that seemed to come at him simultaneously. LeChevalier was no longer kidding around and throwing probing punches, he moved and fought like Solomon did when shit was getting real. Caught flat-footed, Alister knew there was no way he could keep up with all of them - using blood still took him time and concentration, time he didn't have. With LeChevalier already in close, he snapped out another solid punch, this time at LeChevalier's jaw to try and cut his attacks short - and with the quarter-second he had left, burned some of the blood in his veins and used little supernatural speed he could muster to focus on dodging LeChevalier's attacks. Alister spends one BP for one extra turn; his regular Celerity bonus is now 2. While he's now taking LeChevalier seriously, because he was caught off guard he still uses his reduced totals for the melee attack. Because dodging is much more instinctual, he's using his full dice for the dodge roll. To confirm: first he spends his regular turn trying to punch LeChevalier in the gabber, and his Celerity extra turn on dodging.

Alister prepared to throw another punch, and saw Alexander begin to move as a blur. It was the same motion that Solomon would use to strike with lightning fast reflexes, and it was easily recognizable as the discipline that Alister himself was most familiar with. Alister's punch seemed to land amongst the blur, but didn't really catch. Alister instinctively rushed blood through his veins and felt time slow around him. He could see Alexander move at closer to normal speed for the first punch. Alister raised an arm to block the attack, taking the hit like a champion. He knew that more strikes were coming and put his weight on his back foot, ready to duck and weave away from the incoming strikes. Alexander's next attacks could be lost in the blink of an eye. His shoulder hurt, but the rush of blood and power gave his precision its usual bite. The fledgling was right to be defensive. For if he had not, the rapid strikes of the elder vampire would have hit true. Alexander, though faster than his opponent, found himself missing hit punches. It seemed that Alister's panicked, instinctual evasion finally displayed his true colors. Alister was a born fighter. Given a decade or two Alexander had no doubt that Alister would become a force to be reckoned with. Since the Crushed Nut is a Vampire bar, there has been blood supplied at the bash. A veritable Vampiric Kegger. Besides, no self respecting Brujah would show up to a bash hungry, knowing they'd get into a fight. Both start with a blood pool of 10.

Alexander laughed, before continuing with the banter portion of the fight. "Well done! I must say, you are an incredible opponent, especially for one so young. Forgive the surprise, but a practical is the only way to teach this lesson; never assume you know another Kindred's capabilities. Often sires try to teach that verbally, but it's a bit like trying to teach piano by explaining the keys." Alexandre then lunged forward, with a single simple blow intended to aimed at Alister's chest.
(Spending 1 BP to bump up Dex again, now to 6. Only making the one attack, so retaining the celerity dice as extra dots.)

"You're not bad either," Alister acknowledged. He shifted his footing, and crouched lower. It was pretty clear that holding back was a bad idea - the Primogen had him beat in the discipline mastery department, so he'd have to do this the mortal way. "You had me going with the 'take it easy on me' act, you cheeky shit."
He waited, watching for LeChevalier's next move. He expected more of the ducking-and-punching, or a superhuman flurry of attacks. What he didn't expect was LeChevalier to lunge at him straight on with devastating accuracy and speed. Were he a normal man, Alister would have tried to just tank the blow - but he'd learned how much strength was in one of those punches and he didn't fancy his luck.
Burning some more of the vitae in his veins to accelerate his movements, he waited until the last instant and sprang to the side. In the instant after, he shifted his weight again and, still revelling in the return of his mobility and agility, spun on his heel to deliver a devastating roundhouse kick at LeChevalier's back.
((Alister's taking the fight seriously, so all of his stats are at their normal. Alister spends another BP (8 remaining) to activate Celerity at rank 1 - one entire action goes to a dodge manoeuvre, the other action goes to deliver a Kick at Chevzie Wevzies (aimed at his back, but he'll go for the front if he doesn't get out of the way successfully.))

Alister stepped to the side with such ease that he tripped Alexander as he went past. Alexander stumbled and tripped as Alister squarely kicked him in the back, waiting for his blunder to send him flying into the side of the ring. The kick had a surprising lack of strength behind it, in comparison to how easily Alister's strike had landed, and Alexander stood up with ease, miraculously unhurt from his serious blunder. The two squared off again, ready to fight. Alister activates tier one Celerity, first action with the good good dodge. iJylJvmyp_p_p_p_p_p_p_p_ hah ok.

Turning to face his foe again, Alexander shifted back to the strategy he led the fight with, throwing a more probing than aggressive punch, intending to weave in and out, but more effectively with his blood-enhanced grace.
(Nothing fancy this time. Dex is capped at 6 from blood buffing, and keeping the Celerity as bonus dots. Also, previously upthread I spent 1 BP to get 2 bonus actions from Celerity, but rereading the rules that should have been 2, so spent down to 5 BP, not 6.)

The tricky shit wasn't working, and the lack of either of them really landing a hit was getting under Alister's skin. Time to slam him down, then. Alister didn't even wait for LeChevalier to steady himself and throw a punch this time, just charged straight at him with his arms wide to tackle him, lift him high, and then slam him hard down onto the stone floor.
