After a few moments of the Arms flailing about, there was a groaning sound as the elevator doors on the first floor began to open. Scrambling so that they could get in before having to ride up to the second floor, Luz and Hisato expertly slid through the elevator's frame and strolled through the doors. From the inside it was obvious that the barn was, in fact, used primarily as a garage. On the first floor was stored a number of trucks, large and small, clearly used for various utilitarian purposes in the maintenance of the estate. Directly opposite where Luz and Hisato entered from the elevator was a door, this one without any electronic witchery, to their right was the garage door they had just recently been examining and on the far end to their left were stairs leading up to the second floor. Luz and Hisato roll Dex to see if they can catch the elevator before the first level doors close and the have to ride to the second floor. Luz

Luz pointed at the door on the ground floor and started moving quietly towards it so as not to be heard. She stopped in front of it and kneeled down, listening through the crack beneath the door and checking for any light that may be inside.
Such an exercise was more of a ritualistic habit than something that served any purpose. The likelihood that they hadn't been heard coming through the elevator was miniscule. The machine was horridly loud, and Luz wouldn't be surprised if their cover had been blown even over at the mansion. If there weren't armed guards ready to attack them this instant, she doubted the building would be occupied at all.

Luz noticed no light coming from the door, nor did she hear any noises on the other side and a subtle application of pressure on the handle revealed that it was unlocked. Guards at the manor gatehouse roll Perception 2 + Alertness 2 to hear the elevator 074GhnRjp_p_p_p_ One success, they hear something but faintly enough that they're not sure and must roll again when they look out the window to notice the elevator is now on the top floor instead p_p_p_p_ Yep, they noticed.

Luz opened the door and looked inside and prepared to investigate the room.
"Keep watch Hisato. If someone comes, signal and we'll find a hiding place. I'm going to do a quick search."
Luz looked, not only for useful information about the Primogen and the status of their contact, but for a place to hide two vampires from any who might come looking for them. She would do her best to stay away from any more loud, modern machinery for the most of the night if she could.

Carefully opening the door, Luz found on the other side, not a room, but a long and presently unilluminated passageway that lead towards the mansion. While it would have been difficult for a mortal to see down the dark hall, Luz's eyes, accustomed as they were to to night's shadows, registered that at the end of the lengthy passage was a brief flight of stairs leading downward to another door. This door on the opposite end, unlike the counterpart she currently glanced through, seemed to have a keypad beneath its handle. Hisato rolls Perception 2 + Alertness 3

Damned technology... Luz thought to herself as she advanced down the hallway. There was almost no way that she could figure out the key code given the time that they had. The guards would come soon, and it would be easier to brute force her way through, hopefully with silent tact.
She examined the door, looking to see its make, and what she could do to pry it open. She specifically looked at the frame. If it were wood it should be possible to break the frame around the door with a kick if she couldn't manage to pry open the locking mechanism quietly to pass through the door.

Taking a closer look, Luz determined that, despite that door's technological lock, it was no more securely constructed than one in a typical home. With some careful application of leverage, prying it open without making too much noise was not out of the realm of possibility. Meanwhile, the crunch of the approaching guard's footfalls at last reached a volume that was obvious to Hisato. Luz rolls Perception 2 + Larceny 0 to examine the door

Luz slowly began to apply pressure to the doorframe, her supernatural strength hopefully measured enough to fracture the structure without sound. Locks notably being only as strong as the structure around them.
She had not yet heard from Hisato regarding their potential detection. Human incompetence never ceased to amaze her. Once the door was pried open she would go get Hisato and they would proceed quietly into the mansion together to finish their task.

Hisato nodded before quickly moving to a more suitable spot from which to keep an eye out and his ears open to all. At first he did not hear the sounds of the guard, even despite his skills, but after a few minutes of crouching in the dark hidden away and focusing himself, Hisato soon found he was rewarded.
Hearing the sound of footfalls approaching, Hisato signalled with a hand that someone was coming. He spoke of almost as a whwiper to Luz to further specify the situation.
"It appears we are expecting company. I hear footfalls approaching, best we find out what level of threat it is. Human or Vampire. Regardless I suggest we hide and see just who it is and what we can do about keeping them silenced about our presence."

Luz fumbled about trying to get a proper grip to quietly pry open the door but had some trouble finding just the right spot. The guard's footfalls, meanwhile, continued towards the garage at a measured pace. Luz rolls Strength 3 + Potence 2 to force the door
mjxYAyWHp_p_p_p_p_ Net total of zero successes.
While Hisato is keeping his voice down, he is on the other side of the passage while keeping watch so there's a chance the guard will hear him while approaching. It's very low though so I'm assigning a difficulty of 8 to the guard's Perception 2 + Alertness 2 roll.
p_p_p_p_ Wow, this guy needs to find a new career. Any subsequent stealth-related rolls Luz or Hisato make against this guard will be at difficulty 4. ········

Luz beckoned Hisato into the hall. "Come in here. We'll close the door to this hall and lie in wait. If he opens it to check for us, you kill him swiftly and quietly." With that Luz went back to her work on the door. Her blood boiled in frustration and strength surged through her fingers. How a slippery door frame managed to best her was beyond her. The hardest part of this ordeal was not outright kicking the door down. This operation still required stealth, and with a soon to be dead guard on her hands, their cover was not yet truly blown. The situation simply required more haste now. using a blood point to open the door

With some pressure from her shoulder and a bit of Caine's power, Luz forcibly separated door from latch with a satisfying but subtle "click-clunk." On the other side of the portal she had forced open, the Lasombra saw a short hall with double doors at its far end, one door to the left side and a walk-in freezer door on the right side. While Luz was opening her door, Hisato closed the door between garage and passage, as he'd been instructed, after entering. The final participation in this cavalcade of doors came as the two vampires could hear the garage doors groaning opening then, after a moment, a man's voice calling, "Hello? Anyone there?" Illumination began to stream through the edges of the door that Hisato had just closed as the garage lights on the other side were activated. Luz rolls Strength 3 with two automatic successes from spending on Potence to open the door; because this is a second attempt the difficulty increases by +1 to 7

Luz moved up to the door and waited to pounce with Hisato. She played with the shadows in the hall, pulling them across her, hiding her from sight in the unnatural darkness. Should the guard come through the door she hoped this blackness would momentarily confuse the poor mortal leaving him open to the deadly ambush.
