From a patch of shadow across the street, Joaquin de Jovinna observed the building. The front face of its first floor was partially made of dense glass, which revealed an insanely expensive clothing store within. The other front portion of the first floor had windowless walls and seemingly a different entrance from the store. And on the surface of the second floor, which was likewise windowless, a sign identified the building as Capri. Carefully observation and investigation had lead Joaquin to believe with some certainty that this was the Haven of Oddhaven's Camarilla Prince.

The blueblood dwelt within. He could almost smell the overbearing pretentious wrapping up the structure in a thick smog of cocksure security. No vampire could have expected to walk into the enemy's fortress through the front door. All of them worthless bugs not fit to lick clean his loafers. None of them held the chains of time like Joaquin. Feeling particularly bold this night, he rolled back his sleeve, checking his wristwatch. Stepping out of the shade to meander down the sidewalk, he stole a glance at the building, smirking all the way. Joaquin activates Temporis, Insight to search the building's exterior for any alternative entrances, hidden or not and how they might be breached.

Joaquin tried to concentrate and cast his perception outwards in time but the movements of hundreds of thousands of individuals that had and would pass this spot in times past and future proved too much noise to filter through. Instead it was mundane sleuthing that revealed to him a possible way in. In the alley behind the building, Joaquin found a large garage-type door serving as a rear entrance. Though the freight entrance was locked, next to it were two boxes in a state of being half-unpacked alongside a half-finished soda bottle. Joaquin was willing to bet an inventory delivery had been in progress and, having forgotten something, the workers left to fetch it and would return. Joaquin spends a Willpower point and rolls Wits 4 + Alertness 0 at difficulty 8 to activate insight; given the circumstances Joaquin's spec in Wits will apply thus 10s will count as two successes. Keeping his eyes glued to the alley, Joaquin moved into a closer hiding spot, and waited for any sign that the garage door would be opened.

About twenty minutes passed before Joaquin saw headlights begin to pull in the alley. The delivery truck came to a stop in front of the back entrance and two men exited, one from each side of the vehicle. "How could you forget that shit? That's about an hour of my night down the toilet," the first worker snarled at the second. "I was too busy looking at the nudes your sister and mom keep sending me," the second snapped back sarcastically. "I got my mother and my sister for you right here," the first worker said, raising his fists, before turning and almost instantly picking out Joaquin near by, "Hey, who the fuck are you!" "I'm the guy-" the second worker began before being quickly cut off by the first. "Not you, fuckwit, that motherfucker!" the first said, pointing at Joaquin. Stepping out further, the second worker noticed Joaquin, "Yeah, who the fuck are you?" Joaquin rolls Dex 3 + Stealth 0 to hide

Even though Joaquin failed I'm still going to roll for the workers as they could still botch out. They're going to share a Perception 2 + Alertness at +1 difficulty because they're distracted by their argument. p_p_ Nope, they definitely notice Joaquin. ····

Joaquin did not flinch. There was bound to be at least one person who would spot him. Better it happen now than in the thick of things. If anything, he wanted the master of this cosmopolitan castle to know he was there - assuming they weren't aware already. With a rather disturbing smile, he stepped forward. Joaquin uses Temporis, Cheat the Fates to step outside of time, and if successful; stab the pair in the neck with a knife.[/spoiler

With a unified, fluid motion of body and mind, Joaquin stepped out of time, giving him absolute freedom in space. He drew his knife and approached the first worker. However, it had been a while since Joaquin had last fought atemporally and he had trouble pressing his blade across the barrier between his no-time and the workers' mundane time. In the end he was forced back into the timestream without having fully killed even one of the men; though his stabbing victim did begin to bleed dramatically once timeflow had resumed. With the sudden manifestation of such a traumatic stabbing, the first worker could not help but vomit up blood and fall to the ground, no doubt to bleed out within seconds. The second worker stared in shock for a long moment before opening his mouth in what Joaquin knew would soon be a scream. Joaquin spends a Willpower point to activate Cheat the Fates, leaving his total WP pool at 4, he then rolls Wits 4 + Occult 3 at difficulty 7

"Useless trash!" barked the Brujah, cursing his luck on this night. Plucking a knife out from his jacket, Joaquin reeled back his arm, ready to drive it into the fellow's neck before he could utter a sound other than a death rattle.

Joaquin stabbed at the young man, who in turn practically threw himself in the opposite direction. The sudden move resulted in the attack slashing his arm rather than penetrating his body. His scream was reduced to a panicked noise of indeterminate nature as he spent his breath sprinting madly away from Joaquin. Joaquin rolls Dex 3 + Melee 3 to attack

Tisking at his rather rusty knifework, Joaquin decided not to waste more of his breath on pursuing a gnat like that. What he did do, was drag the corpse of the other into the shadows, and search for a suitable way past the metal doors. With any luck, inspection would reveal an option to enter the building.

Dragging the near-dead man into the shadows only marginally lessened the suspiciousness of the scene, as the pool of blood that had collected around him turned into a trail in his wake. At the very least, the body was now out of direct light. Joaquin picked over the mortal man as the latter drew his last breath, looking for anything that might be of use. His dispassionate eyes displayed no care for the life he'd ended; to expect any True Brujah, let alone Joaquin, to feel sympathy or remorse more than once a night is absurd. Joaquin's vulture-like examinations revealed a key of rings, which seemed a good place to start. Approaching the wares entrance again, Joaquin found an electronics box on the wall next to it with a smaller than average keyhole which matched the smaller than average key on the ring. A turn was rewarded with the garage-style door rolling upward to reveal two medium-large storage rooms linked at the center. The rooms were each filled with boxes of clothing and one of them also held a significant number of surprisingly comfortable folding chairs stored up against its walls and held in groups by thin ropes. Each of the rooms had a door in the opposite direction of the freight door, these doors were locked and none of the keys of the ring worked for them. Similarly locked down was the elevator door that stood directly opposite the wares door. It too had a lock like the one the key had opened but it required a different key. Looking up, Joaquin realized that the elevator opened on to a railed walkway two meters directly above his head. Joaquin rolls Conscience 2 to avoid degeneration, I forgot to apply this last time but the True Brujah weakness gives +2 difficulty for Conscience rolls, so this'll be at difficulty 10

Carefully observing his surroundings, Joaquin set about stacking what boxes he could shift, in order to reach the walkway, as quietly and as quickly as he could.

Finding boxes that were light enough to lift but sturdy enough to support his weight proved easy enough. Where Joaquin had a bit of trouble was stacking them up in a structure that seemed secure. Eventually satisfied with the box-ladder, he made a slow and somewhat wobbly ascent before grabbing hold of the railing and pulling up to the catwalk. From here Joaquin saw that the walkway had stairs attached to its opposite end from the first floor elevator, which rose in a squared spiral. Joaquin rolls Str 3 at difficulty 5 to stack boxes, any successes after the first will give -1 difficulty from the climb roll 48q1PEzKp_p_p_
One success, Joaquin stacks the boxes but must climb at the full difficulty of 7, using Dex 3 + Athletics 0

Joaquin crouched down as he moved quietly up the stairs. They turned out to not be much of a climb, seeming far steeper due to their spiraling construction. They landed just about three meters above the elevator and about a meter and a half to its side. At their apex was a steel door, with no knob, or crease or anything to indicate it wasn't a wall except its indentation and the panel next to it. The panel consisted of a button, a speaker and a black glass semi-sphere which Joaquin took to be a camera. Though he was confident he'd stayed out of its sight while ascending, walking up to the door without being caught on camera would be a trickier prospect. Joaquin rolls Dex 3 + Wits 0 O9nybUrNp_p_p_··
