The fire streaked around in the darkness. Luz could see Gabriella floundering pathetically, her attempt at salvation failing in the face of mother's power. The human woman slid off the end of her sword, gasping for air like a gutted fish bleeding at her feet. The fire came close, pushing the fire aside for only a moment. The man, gasping for breath, smothered in the black, saw his family, dead and bleeding on the ground or suspended, lifeless, in the supernatural darkness. Only two cold pearls of iridescent darkness kept him company, as they drove a blade into his stomach, spilling his guts onto the floor as the steel left his body.
"I'm done Mother!" Luz called joyously into the cold inviting void. Gabriella could not hear her in the muffling of the darkness. She then whispered a final question into the frigid blackness, "What should I do about my step sister? What do you demand?"

The answer that came to Luz in the depths of that unnatural and unwholesome night was simple and emphatic, "ALL WHO REJECT MY LOVE MUST DIE!" Gabriella, meanwhile, while ignorant to the exchange that was occurring, had heard enough dying screams, and had enough sense, to realize that her heroic stand was proving futile. Though it wrenched her heart to do so, she turned about and sought to navigate the darkness as best she could in retreat. She managed to succeed at this but not before slamming against the wall a meter and a half from the doorway. Gabriella rolls Dex 3 + Alertness 1 to successfully exit the room
6Ns_2Nb7p_p_p_p_ One net success, she can use a move to exit the room but must dedicate her entire turn to moving. She also takes two Bashing damage (which is reduced to one since she's a vamp) from bumping into the wall. ยทยทยท

Luz saw Gabriella leave the room, out of her darkness and out of her sight. This worried Luz, for when Gabriella wished not to be seen, she would disappear from the minds of those around her. Luz could only follow where she thought Gabriella would go. There had been only one entrance to this place that she had noticed; the stairwell. After that, it was anyone's guess which exit Gabriella would leave through. The task of finding her sister would be far harder than fighting her, as it should be expected with a talented assassin.
Luz's tendrils of shadow crawled through the room, twisting and convulsing, scrambling over each other in alien patterns, chasing out of the room and into the hallway towards the stairs, after Gabriella.

Like a demon from the lowest pits, Luz burst forth from the deep darkness she had summoned. Her horrific visage contorted in a snarl of purely murderous intent, she stalked forward with her myriad abyssal arms grasping and clawing before her. Her hulking form, ephemeral as it was, glided down through the confines of the stairwell without difficulty. Luz cast her gaze left, then right, then left, then right, and sent her arms stretching likewise in each direction, searching for her wayward broodmate. It was not Luz's sight, nor her touch, that ultimately called for her attention, however, but her ears.
Luz stalked back up the stairs as she heard the sound of breaking glass coming from above and, upon completing her ascent, turned to regard the window that she had noted earlier. Though her concerns that her mortal prey might have escaped through it had proven false, now it seemed that Gabriella had instead slipped through her clutches this way. Approaching the now-shattered window, Luz rapidly looked about for Gabriella but the latter woman had used her Cainite talents to disappear from sight utterly. All that Luz could see were the city streets bathed in calm, tranquil moonlight...and all that she could feel was absolute despondency at failing to heed her beloved Mother's command.

Oh, dear Mother. I have failed you now... I'm so sorry. Luckily I have eternity to find that fearful Mutt, and destroy her.
The shadowy, monstrous form twisted and packed itself back into Luz's physical flesh, seemingly sucked into every orifice and crevasse in her cold, dead body. The last of the darkness slipped back into her body underneath her left lower eyelid.
She felt odd, within this physical body. Even this quiet night in the world infested by man seemed loud, raucous, and insincere in comparison to the open truth of the Void, where Mother and all her beloved siblings resided. How Gabriella could choose this horrid world over the cold embrace of Mother's domain was unthinkable. What could the warmth of this world offer the souls of the damned?
Luz left the quiet, tense, and bloody house in the pale moonlight, all inhabitants dead. Ricardo would consider this a victory and be none the wiser of what had truly transpired. Luz would serve mother in reverent, silent secrecy until her work in this world was done, and the Void could embrace all.
