The presence of outside saboteurs was not surprising; after four hundred years of perfecting their business, the Ghiberti did not suffer from random slave revolts. This one enemy was not a great threat but that was not the point of the invaders leaving just one of their squad behind: to delay Melisse while the others stalked Lethabo. Henrico stepped forward boldly. During their Proxy Kiss, while Melisse was taught to hone her natural talent for necromancy, Henrico had been given instruction in another of the family's blood arts. And he had found, even as a ghost, his skill in mind control had not diminished. Closing enough distance to try and lock gazes with the enemy, Henrico commanded, "Leave!" Using Dominate 1, which has no activation cost. Henrico rolls Manipulation 3 + Intimidation 2 at difficulty of target's current Willpower points

The goon, whoever he was, was apparently accustomed enough with spirits to remain unfazed by it's threats, even with the supernatural power behind them. Though a balaclava made reading his face difficult, his eyes clearly darted back and forth between the two as he turned the knife in his hand. ·······

Henrico's initial psychic assault may have failed, but his means of invading minds were varied. While the interloper's clothing successfully concealed his identity, it did leave him with one glaring weakness: every other sense besides his sight was dulled by being wrapped in cloth. With an exertion of will, Henrico subjected the intruder to an illusory vision of hellish and harsh beams of cruel light, shining constantly into the man's face and totally obscuring his sight. Melisse and Henrico then began trying to move around the invader to his other side, giving a berth wider than knife's reach and with Henrico between him and Melisse. Henrico spends one Willpower to activate Chimerstry 1. Until Henrico leaves the vicinity, the guy will see this illusion.

Alrighty, first things first, sincere apologies for the long delay in posting. Everything should be smoother operating.
On to the match, the goon won initiative, so while you declared intent first, he acts first. So, he's going to make his attack before the light blinds him, but afterwards the light will add +2 to the difficulty of his rolls.

As Henrico summoned the power to create his illusion, the intruder moved with surprising speed, lunging toward Melisse and slashing with his knife. Before his attack landed, the effects of the illusion could be seen as he quickly shut his eyed and grimaced with pain, but he had moved in place quickly and his blade was still able to connect from the memory of where Melisse had been the instant before, cutting across her forearm which she instinctively put in place between herself and the weapon as she moved behind Henrico and away from the assailant.

Melisse screamed as the blade cut her, and ran from the newly-blinded intruder with wide steps. Henrico, enraged at seeing his sister harmed, began to scream furious obscenities at her assailant. But these were not merely harsh words. They were backed with ghostly power, which sought to hyperstimulate the fear the man was no doubt feeling from having his sight suddenly taken. Henrico is activating Dementation 1, rolling Charisma 2 + Empathy 3 at a difficulty equal to the goon's humanity, to amplify the goon's emotions. It has no activation fee but Henrico is spending a willpower point to add one automatic success. One net success will cause the goon to be affected for one turn; two will last one hour and any successes beyond that I expect would basically be redundant given the circumstances. Melisse is doing a full move action away from the intruder.

Waving the knife about him blindly, the goon moved erratically toward the broken window from which he had entered. Though not terrified enough to sprint out, the man was clearly shaken and attempting to flee.
5 dice at difficulty 7, giving one success plus the automatic success from the willpower point.
EDIT: Oddly, the dice seem to have vanished when I posted, and rerolling gives different results. You did get a success, though, so I'm just going to ignore whatever I did. Probably an issue when I was adding spoiler tags in the BBCode- I always seem to run into issues there, for whatever reason. Anyhow, sorry about that. Tracing the line of her wound with a finger and scowling at the fleeing intruder, Melisse wished she had the luxury of finishing him off. But getting past him had already taken more time and effort than she had wanted, and so Melisse and Henrico dashed in the opposite direction, seeking to intercept the intruder's comrades.

Melisse and Henrico rounded the corner, the hallway was empty, meaning the invaders had already seemed to have made their way past. As she reached the door to the vault at the end of the hall, however, she found the door closed and unlocked. It wasn't smashed, as one might expect, and it seemed unlikely that enough time had passed for the many redundant locks to have been picked. And while Lethabo may have panicked while being pursued and forgotten to have locked the door, she knew he had an unusually collected personality, which had served him well many times in his dealings with the slaves. To one who had been introduced to the paranoid politics of the Kindred, she began to feel a familiar suspicion. ·······

In mortal life, Melisse might have slightly bitten the inside of her lower lip in a situation like this. As a Kindred, saddled with her Clan's Curse of the Lamia, she'd learned the hard way to break that habit some time ago. There was clearly betrayal afoot and three different scenarios entered her mind as to the specifics. Her preference would be that some informant of the invaders had either sneaked into family employ or that one of the family's lesser servants had been bribed or blackmailed. The scenario of median concern was that this really was all a clever move by Melokuhle despite how she'd chided Lethabo for suspecting it. Melisse somewhat regretted intentionally outpacing the old man now, but the thought of him cowering in a closet for the duration of the battle had been too delicious to resist. Besides, despite his occult potency, his physical state made him even more ill-suited than herself to being in harm's way and she wasn't fond of the notion of leading him into the family's vaults, as well. Melisse looked to her brother as he began to lead the way through the doors; at least she could always rely on Henrico. Henrico is leading the way forward using a Dex 3 + Stealth 3 roll. I'm not even going to bother attempting a Stealth roll with Melisse so as to not risk a botch, she'll just move at a distance back and Henrico will try to ambush anyone who tries to attack or interfere with her. Henrico is also rolling Perception 3 + Alertness 3 to scout, and activating Heightened Senses to give -1 difficulty to that roll, for which there is no cost.

Rolling Stealthiness kKeE9PeNp_p_p_p_p_p_and Scoutiness p_p_p_p_p_p_ And crushed both. You can always count on Henrico indeed! With but a glance, Melisse was able to communicate her plan to her brother, who immediately understood and began skulking down into the vault. It was difficult to know what the intruders were after, even if she had a clear idea of who they were, as the vault contained many family treasures- young and old, magical and mundane. It was also a labyrinth, though she and her brother were intimately familiar with the layout, and potentially the invaders were if they could so easily enter.
As Henrico descended, Melisse remained at the top of the stairway, waiting for her brother's signal to descend. He stopped at the base of the steps, with the unnatural silence of the undead, listening for any signs of the invaders. And in the distance he heard it, as many feet scuttled along a path to the right. They spoke in hushed whispers, but Henrico could just make them out.
"...much further? It's creepy as hell down here."
"It's a crypt in a Necromancer's home. What did you expect?"
"Quiet, all of you. We're not out of the water yet."
"Klerk is holding them upstairs, we're fine."
"You think he'll keep them occupied forever? Even when we get to the relic, we..."
As they rounded a corner, the voices faded too much for even the wraith's unnatural hearing. He motioned to his sister, then crept out of her sight, moving to the right down the path the intruders must have taken and continued stalking them. [/p] ···········

The next step was obvious enough that even a pair lacking the sibling bond of Melisse and Henrico could have proceeded without further verbal consultation. Henrico would need to advance further ahead, and determine the status of Lethabo. Without that information, any further actions would be difficult to decide. The men were likely too far ahead to sneak past, and returning to the Shadowlands to bypass them presented its own problems. Instead, Henrico would attempt to catch up a bit with the intruders without compromising his stealth. Then, if Lethabo is not with the men, use his powers of illusion again to create an image of someone running past the end of a hall to try and send them in the wrong direction. Melisse meanwhile would trail behind far enough not to be seen as she had been doing.

Rolling Stealth again, at difficulty 5 for the past success: yYsKMKGQp_p_p_p_p_p_ Sweet Jesus. Despite all the ones, that's still just a run-of-the-mill failure, not a botch, because you got the 9. As Henrico moved closer, attempting to make visual contact with the intruders, he caught notice of Lethabo, who was not only with the others, but leading the way. The men continued making hushed whispers among themselves, and as Lethabo turned with a finger raised to hush them- turning just as Henrico rounded the corner and catching him out of the corner of his eye. Peering into the darkness, Lethabo couldn't quite make out the ghostly figure, but knew enough of the Ghiberti house to trust that he had indeed seen something. Hesitating for only a moment, he shouted, "Get the relic!" to his men, as he turned and ran deeper into the vault.
His men, confused by the change of pace and unfamiliar with the cramped dark labyrinth ran to follow, but as was inevitable a few became stranded in the dark.
Rolling for each man, Perception + Alertness, at difficulty 8 to successfully follow Lethabo: Goon 1 p_p_p_p_ Goon 2 p_p_p_p_ Goon 3 p_p_p_p_ Goon 4 p_p_p_p_ 2 successfully follow him, one fails and is stranded, blocking the path between Melisse and Henrico, and Lethabo and his goons. One botches, goes down the completely wrong hall, and is never now hopelessly lost somewhere where he will no longer interfere with the story.
