It took the man a moment of thinking, and a quick frisk of his person before he devised a plan. At first he thought to blind the camera with his cellphone's torch... Yet that would get him to the door and no farther. Instead, he decided on something else. Plastering his face with a look of concern, flicking on said torch, and bolting to the door, Joaquin pounded on it, screaming bloody murder for help. Acting increasingly more frantic, he looked around the area, shining his flashlight about, convincingly looking for something to get beyond this door. In his mock panic, he rapidly pressed the button by the speaker, looking over his shoulder periodically.
"Help! Someone please help, for the love of God!"

While Joaquin repeatedly pressed the call button, providing a hammy performance as a distressed citizen, an actual distressed citizen looked up with a start at the headlights approaching him. The young worker had called the police from this spot after running blindly for two blocks from Capri in the biggest panic of his life. He'd waited here as the emergency call operator had instructed, clutching his still-bleeding forearm. Behind the oncoming lights sat James Shaw, who pulled the police vehicle up to the young man. FYI I rolled for James' arrival time in a PM with Strigus.

Shaw stepped out of the vehicle and approached the citizen slowly. It seemed genuine enough, and his instincts told him the man before him was the genuine victim, not whoever was breaking into the Prince's manor. But his instincts had been wrong before, so as he approached with one hand outstretched in a calming non-hostile manner, he discretely kept his other hand on his revolver.
The price of this precaution was that he didn't have a free hand for his flashlight- one outstreched hand and the other behind his back seemed natural, but a flashlight in one and the other behind his back seemed threatening, as he had learned long ago. So he instead left the headlights on instead, well aware he may alert the true culprit.
"That's a nasty gash, friend. What exactly happened?"

The kid, for he couldn't have been older than twenty-one by Shaw's guess, almost began to respond but then stopped short when it came out blubbery and confused. He took a moment to compose himself and Shaw took that moment to examine him. It was blatantly obvious that this guy was no vampire, if the non-bloody tears weren't indication enough, the blood coming from the kid's arm was thin and quick, unlike the thick and oh-so-sweet stuff vamps had in their veins. Now more in possession of himself, the young worker proceeded, "I...uh, I'm Nate, I work for Vance Expediting and Fulfillment," Shaw had noted as much from the patches on the young man's brown coveralls, "Me and Jimmy were making a delivery to this store down the street when this guy, this fucking horrible looking guy, jumps us...and he...and he...he just moved so God damn fast. It was like one second he'd just walked up, couldn't have been less than three and a half meters away, the next Jimmy's on the ground dead and bleeding everywhere. He came at me and...I just ran. He didn't follow me so I stopped and called; the emergency phone lady said to wait here." Nate's fear seemed real to Shaw, but he didn't believe the kid was being honest with him. His partner gets gutted and the assailant lets him get away with just a cut on the forearm? No, more likely this kid was in on this hijacking but the hijacker got too enthusiastic, went off-script and killed Jimmy. As for the "horrible looking man" there was every chance this was a fake description, like the proverbial "one-armed man," designed to disguise Nate's co-conspirator's identity. Meanwhile, the horrible looking man in question considered his situation for a moment. Joaquin was quite certain that someone on the other end had heard him (a few indistinct crackles and mumblings suggested this) and he also knew that a place this secure wouldn't just simply ignore someone pounding on a secret door. However, he was also quite certain that his performance wasn't being believed, which meant he couldn't be sure of the reception he'd receive once someone did respond. But, at the very least, he had a moment now to prepare and plan for the worst logical potential scenarios. Shaw rolls Perception 3 + Investigation 3 to notice things
