Physical Appearance:
A man of average height, Joaquin stands at about 172cm tall and just shy of 90kg. Though a Spaniard by birth, Joaquin retains his mother's fair complexion and brown-orange eyes that have turned more amber with the onset of his vampirism, lacking visible pupils. Sunken into their sockets like a man thrice the age Joaquin appears to be, Joaquin's curious facial structure is emphasized by unnaturally-high cheekbones. Somewhere between sandy-blond and fair brown-haired, Joaquin styles his hair messily at ear-length. For clothing, Joaquin favors woollen suits not unlike the Italian Mobsters, though of lighter, earthier tones. For the sake of mobility, he often eschews the jackets in favor of waistcoats.
Personality:
With the abuse of his brother, and the neglect of his father combined by the murder of his mother at the latter's hand, Joaquin has dispensed with the human condition entirely, viewing his turned father as a shade of a vampire. Settling on being nothing less than the the puppet master of the world itself, Joaquin appropriately styled himself as El Mundo. Lacking in both moral conscience and empathy, his centuries as a vampire have given him unmatched patience, endless ambition and a self-centered nature at heart. All things in life are one of three things to the young-looking Jovinna; An insect to be ignored, A tool to be exploited, or a threat to be quickly culled.
Though appearing outwardly reckless and cruel, Joaquin uses his keen mastery over time to discern every possible outcome before he acts, and plans accordingly - mapping every conceivable eventuality in his head. Wary of those his begrudging equal, and likewise cautious around those his despised better, Joaquin will throw every tool at his disposal at a foe to secure victory. In his mind such things as honor, pride and morality are chains that weigh down the weak, and has thusly thrown them away.
Biography:
The circumstances of Joaquin's birth were set in stone decades before the birth of his parents. During the earliest settlement of Mexico in the 1600s by Spain, tax collector Santiago Jovinna - Joaquin's paternal grandfather, immigrated to Mexico City in 1602. There he met Sister Josefina Albaladejo de Anso, a Roman Catholic, who later left the Church to marry Santiago. Together, they had one son , Diego Cristiano, who greatly desired to follow in his father's footsteps. As a young man, Diego managed to accrue a generous amount of wealth by extorting poor immigrants. In turn, he would repossess homes, selling them back at an inflated price. Growing into a wealthy landowner, he later was betrothed to an English immigrant's daughter, Nora Starr Fairbrook. Fairbrook, the heir to a coal empire in the States bore Diego two children; Joaquin and his younger brother Diego Jr.
From a very young age, Joaquin was forced to vy for his father's attention, as Diego Sr. had grown increasingly dissatisfied with his life, family and dwindling wealth - classic signs of a midlife crisis. Though the elder brother, Joaquin was often the second fiddle to Diego Jr., a bright and gifted boy. At fifteen, Joaquin fell in with a group of Galician drug smugglers, aiding them in their drug smuggling by using his grandmother's church as a front. Earning the gansters' trust, Diego Sr. later discovered these actions and demanded a percent of their profits to keep silent. One of the Mafiosos - a vampire, took an interest in Diego Sr. - particularly his wife. He offered the aging man the gift of eternal life, which Diego took. Finding a new lease on life, Joaquin, his brother and mother were all turned within weeks, against their will. Before long however, Diego grew increasingly paranoid of humans. Eventually his paranoia extended to his family and the vampire who sired him. In a manic rage he murdered both the vampire and his wife, whom he accused of cheating on him with said vampire.
Seizing control of the now-Mexican Mafioso, Diego's grasp on sanity slipped by the day, with the man turning to excessive feeding to cope. Diego Jr. however, took his new gift in his stride, abusing Joaquin wherever he could. Desiring his pound of flesh, Joaquin locked his brother in a cabinet in his home, and burned him alive. He returned to his father's compound days later, exposing the blood-drunk to direct sunlight. With no-one else to contend with, Joaquin took command of the Mexican Mafiosos, whom he branded the Estrella Mafioso, styling himself as El Mundo; their Don. Joaquin would go on to live a solitary life, manipulating from behind the scenes, emerging every few decades as the 'grandson' of the current El Mundo. His discontent grew, and after four centuries of langour, Joaquin desired to bring other vampires under his heel. To this end, he ventured to Oddhaven, under the guise of expanding his small drug empire.

La Iglesia de la Fuente de Dio. (Church of the Font of the Lord)
Once his grandmother's Church, and also founded by the former sister, Joaquin has purchased a run-down chapel nestled in the Windmir Estates district. Unassuming and as run-down as its people, the middle-aged priest, Father Keiran Coates-Mynett. - one of Joaquin's confidants provides shelter to the odd homeless lout or addict seeking to get clean. Like the original, this chapel serves as a front for heroin and cocain smuggling beneath the surface, but in its centuries-old crypts lies the seedbed for Joaquin's aims to dominate the night and the creatures that dwell within it.
